Hawke’s Bay Airport has appointed Darin Cusack to its board, as representative for shareholder councils Napier City, and Hastings District.
Napier Mayor Kirsten Wise and Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst acknowledge the significant experience and skills that Mr Cusack will bring to the board.
Mr Cusack is an experienced consultant and professional director, with significant experience in airports and the aviation sector. His appointment to the board of Hawke’s Bay Airport is for a three year term, commencing 1 January 2023. He replaces Sarah Park, who has stepped down after eight years as Director.
His current directorships include:
- Airways New Zealand
- One Rail, Canterbury Cricket
- Project Control Group
- Auckland Transport (Chair)
Former directorships and executive roles include:
- Dunedin Airport (Director)
- World Bank Pacific Aviation Investment Program, (Program Director/CEO)
- Palmerston North Airport (CEO)
- Tonga Airports (CEO)
- Christchurch International Airport (GM Service and Operations)

Hawke’s Bay Airport is owned 50% by the Crown, 26% by Napier City Council and 24% by Hastings District Council. Current directors are Wendie Harvey (chair), Craig Barrett, and Jon Nichols.
